Arena Fundraisers

We hold a number of community events throughout the year to raise funds to keep our arena up and running. Events include our Annual Steak Supper, a Halloween Dance, Holiday celebrations, Art and Craft Events, Musical Performances, Family Dances, Trade Fairs, Show and Shines, and Agricultural and Sports activities.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we have no fundraisers scheduled at this time. Please check back in the coming months for updates.

In the fall of 2018, our ice chiller experienced a catastrophic failure. Despite our best efforts, we were unable to repair it and were left without an ice surface for the 2018/2019 season. With the arena in danger of closing completely, our community rallied together to "get our ice back".

Hundreds of people crowded into the Rich Valley Agriplex on March 30 to watch the announcement of the winner of the Kraft Hockeyville contest, who would receive $250,000 and the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game. Sadly, Rich Valley did not win, but they do get a runner-up prize of $25,000 in cash and $10,000 in hockey gear.

In March of 2019 we were selected as one of the finalists for Kraft Hockeyville. Thanks to the community support, grants, many donations, fundraisers, business sponsors, and volunteers we were able to have our ice back in place and start skating again in November of 2019.
